I've had this recurring problem since installing Mavericks the day it came out. I have about 8 favorite locations - all of them on our shared file server (Mac Mini NOT on Mavericks) in our office. Anyone else having this problem specifically with shared folders? To show the On My Computer folders in the navigation pane, on the Outlook menu, please click Preferences. Behavior #1: Sometimes when I open up my MBP in the morning and have not yet mounted the shared drive, I'll open, say, Pages, and click on a favorites in an Open. Dialogue, and it will blink out right as I click on it. This doesn't ever happen this way if the drive is mounted. Behavior #2: Open up my MBP and open a Finder window to see SOME of my favorites gone, even if the first thing I did was mount the file server. I add them back and they stick for days or weeks. I have since deleted this app, because I couldn't work without my sidebar. After deleting the app, and re-launching finder, I now have no sidebar, no options, search box or back buttons in my finder window, and my folders open in new windows when the 'always open folders in new windows' box is unticked. Dec 11, 2014 Folders disappeared from sidebar. I found them in the trash under recovered folders. Those files coincidentally are all my work documents. Not only all my work but also microsoft related such as pdfs, pptx, etc. 'Put back' not an option since files are in different formats. I am unable to open any.
